A beautiful practice on dinning experience


Manner and etiquette is a beautiful thing that makes our lifestyle more smooth and stylish. But comfort is everything that makes us who we are. We may say it's more like a personal statement. But on some occasions where we need to show our skills in socializing or maybe say need. Here is some basic etiquette for the dining table we may follow.




  • If you are someone’s guest, wait until you get the signal.
  • If you are the host of the program point the chair for your guest.
  • Try to sit straight at the table.
  • Wait for the host to start eating, If the waiter service waits for all the guests to serve.
  • Offer the person to your left to pass it on the right side.
  • Used silverware should not touch the table but rather on the plate, Do not season the food before you taste it.
  • Place your napkin on the chair if you leave for a moment. Leave a dirty napkin on your left if you are about to leave.
  • Though food should be ordered by your liking. As we are talking about special occasions try to order the food that can be eaten with a knife and fork. Hand-eaten food makes your hand messy.
  • When you are not eating  keep your hand on your lap.
  • Don’t talk when your mouth is full. Don’t chew your food with an open mouth. Cut your food portion bite size.
  • Never spit if the food is bad or gristle on the napkin, remove the food from your mouth using the same utensil it went in with. Put the food side edge of your plate. If possible cover it with other food from your plate.
  • Say no thank you if you don’t want or like something.
  • Eat at a moderate speed. Don’t make others wait for you to finish your meal.
  • Don’t slurp liquid food. If your liquid food is hot let it cool off to your liking. Don’t blow it.
  • Don’t smoke if dining out.
  • If you need to go out during the meal simply excuse yourself. later you can apologize to your host by saying you didn’t feel well.
  • Have some general conversation topics ready all the time.
  • If you need some assistance from the waiter don't whistle, make annoying noise with your finger, or call them loudly. Just put your hand in a moderate height for the attention they will acknowledge you ASAP.
  • Don’t talk or laugh or loudly.
  • Keep your mobile phone vibrate mode.
